History of Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, nondenominational economical housing that welcomes people of all creeds and colors. We build safe, decent, affordable homes with those who lack adequate shelter. Founded in 1976 in Americus George and now is headquartered in Atlanta, Habitat has build over 300,000 homes and is the number one builder in the country.

Manatee County Habitat was chartered in 1994 as a result of a spin off from Manasota. Since then. Habitat was built 97 homes and currently working on the 99th and 100th home. This en-lies the Habitat Chic challenge November 15th between Jason Champion and Mark Dalton.

Habitat Chic

Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, we build simple, decent house with the help of the homeowner families. Habitat houses are sold to the families for now profit and financed with affordable, interest free loans that are financed by Habitat. So the housing is earned by blood, sweat and tear.

The three integral components that make Habitat for Humanity unique and successful are families, volunteers and donors.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity celebrates their 100th house with Habitat Chic, an all-star design competition featuring two of the interior design industry’s biggest personalities, HGTV Design Star finalist Jason Champion and “Chic on the Cheap” Mark Dalton will face in a “Iron Chef” style competition as they design using donated goods and very limited budget in a 24 hour period of course with a camera crew in tow.

The final cut will be shown at the main event November 14th, come out and support your local Habitat for Humanity and the design madness “again”.
